No place has ever grabbed hold of me like the desert has — not even the canoe country of Minnesota or the great mountain wilderness of Montana. This place, as harsh and extreme as it can be, as fierce as it can occasionally get, reaches into the depths of my gut and refuses to let go. I offer no resistance.
My limited abilities with pen and camera can’t begin to convey the deep love I’ve come to feel for the desert, nor can they begin to express it’s spirit. Not yet. But I’m working on it. I’ll hone my skills on the harsh and gritty edge of the desert, and use them to express what it means to me. It’s my home base now.
